This car was present at the Duesenberg debut at the New York Auto Salon in 1928.  Later delivered to Mrs. F. B. Lewis of Chicago, who kept it
until July 1940, when she traded it to Hartshorne Motors.  Duesenberg Dealer John Troka acquired it as soon as he was aware of it.  A major
restoration occurred during the 1960s, which included replacing the Holbrook body with the Rollston coachwork from car 2442.  About the
same period Ray Zahn compiled his list of Duesenbergs (see Literature page), listing this car as "partial," and so was thought not to survive
intact.
